A vaginal yeast infection is a common condition that can cause itching, burning, and thick, white discharge from the vagina. It is caused by an overgrowth of yeast, which is a type of fungus that naturally lives in the vagina. If you are female and not pregnant, your pharmacist may be able to prescribe an antifungal to treat your yeast infection. If you are pregnant or less than 12 years old please visit your doctor. Pharmacists can now assess and prescribe medications to treat vaginal yeast infection. -This is not to replace physicians, but it will help to reduce workload and wait times to see a doctor for major ailments. -This service is covered by OHIP = Ontario health card -Do not have a health card? If you don't have a valid Ontario Health Card (OHIP), Professional fees apply. -Please book an appointment online. -Appointment options will be in person, virtually, over the phone. -Please note, registering for this service does not guarantee a prescription. -Your pharmacist will assess if they can prescribe a treatment option or if a referral to a physician may be necessary.
