Service Description

-Urinary tract infections (also called UTIs) are infections of the bladder. You may experience some of the symptoms below: -Frequent urination, pain while urinating and difficulty holding in urine, urinating more often than normal, or needing to urinate in a hurry. -Pain in lower abdomen and a small amount of blood in the urine -Absence of vaginal discharge -Cloudy or foul-smelling urine -This can cause burning or pain when you urinate. You may experience some of the symptoms below: -If left untreated, a UTI can lead to a more complicated kidney infection or blood infection. -Pharmacists can now assess and prescribe medications to treat urinary tract infections. -This is not to replace physicians, but it will help to reduce workload and wait times to see a doctor for major ailments. -This service is covered by OHIP = Ontario health card (Do not have a health card? There is a fee for that service). -Please book an appointment online. -Appointment options will be in person, virtually, over the phone. -Please note, registering for this service does not guarantee a prescription. -Your pharmacist will assess if they can prescribe a treatment option or if a referral to a physician may be necessary. NOTE: Pharmacists can only assess and prescribe for Females. ❌Excluding: children younger than 12, pregnancy 🤰: please visit your doctor so they can test the bacteria in your urine ❌Excluding men: If you are male, please visit your doctor. You pharmacist cannot prescribe for you as UTI’s in males require closer follow up from a doctor. ❌Please note: we will not send out urine samples to lab.
