Service Description

Diaper rash is a common occurrence in babies and children who wear diapers. It occurs when the skin in the diaper area is irritated because of long exposure to moisture, friction, and contact with urine and feces. Symptoms may include redness, swelling, or scaling in the diaper area. Your pharmacist may be able to prescribe topical drugs to reduce these symptoms. If the rash appears outside of the normal areas covered by the diaper, or if there is a fever or blisters that are bleeding or filled with pus, please see your doctor. Pharmacists can now assess and prescribe medications to treat Diaper rash. -This is not to replace physicians, but it will help to reduce workload and wait times to see a doctor for major ailments. -This service is covered by OHIP = Ontario health card -Do not have a health card? If you don't have a valid Ontario Health Card (OHIP), Professional fees apply. -Please book an appointment online. -Appointment options will be in person, virtually, over the phone. -Please note, registering for this service does not guarantee a prescription. -Your pharmacist will assess if they can prescribe a treatment option or if a referral to a physician may be necessary.
