👄A cold sore is a painful blister that appears on or near the lips or inside the mouth. 👄It is a common infection caused by a virus that can be spread from one person to another. 👄You may experience some of the symptoms below: -The first symptom is often a tingling or burning sensation in the affected area before you can see any sores, followed by the painful blisters. -Rash or bump around border of the lip -Presence of clear, sticky fluid around the rash -Itching, tingling, or burning may lead to the rash -Redness or inflamed skin around the rash -Pharmacists can now assess and prescribe medications to treat cold sores. -This is not to replace physicians, but it will help to reduce workload and wait times to see a doctor for major ailments. -This service is covered by OHIP = Ontario health card -Do not have a health card? If you don't have a valid Ontario Health Card (OHIP), Professional fees apply. -Please book an appointment online. -Appointment options will be in person, virtually, over the phone. -Please note, registering for this service does not guarantee a prescription. -Your pharmacist will assess if they can prescribe a treatment option or if a referral to a physician may be necessary.
